Large scale corruption? The BAE files

/research since 2004-ongoing/ - Did British Aerospace, BAE, pay huge bribes to get an arms deal? The question has kept Guardian investigative editor David Leigh and his colleague Rob Evans busy for years now – the research on the BAE files is still ongoing.

In a recent award laudation the work was praised for reporting about the foreign bribery business, exposing corruption allegations in projects guaranteed by the UK’s Export Credit Guarantees Department as well as political corruption in the UK.

The research has lead to cooperation with colleagues in various other countries. Leighs “untiring pursuit of the truth has also helped journalists in other countries to report on accusations involving BAES and their own governments,” the laudation read.
