The Farmsubsidy project

/resarch since 2004-ongoing/ - “New money for old names” was one of the many headlines that appeared in various European media when the recipients of the EU’s largest lump of expenses became public – the European farmers and farmbusiness. Contrary to yearlong political rethoric, the bulk of money turned out to go to large landowners, old nobility, large corporations.

Country by country an alliance of journalists, academics and activists applied freedom of information legislation to fight out the data about who really receives the 50 plus billion annual Euro.

And country by country articles appeared about something, that until then had been considered ‘boring European affairs’.

Read some of the articles from the various countries, and find data on Farmsubsidy.org.
