The world's most smuggled legal substance

/Published late 2008/ - “The illicit trafficking of tobacco is a multibillion-dollar business today, fueling organized crime and corruption, robbing governments of needed tax money, and spurring addiction to a deadly product. Tobacco is the world’s most widely smuggled legal substance.”

The journalists asked the key questions: How big is the problem? Where are the smuggling routes? What are the consequences?
