CHISINAU – This intensive on-site training and support programne is designed for climate journalists from Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries and the European Union.

Its goal is to foster investigative and solutions-oriented journalism on pressing climate topics such as energy independence, forest protection, green transition, and climate justice.

The program targets freelance journalists with 2–3 years of experience in climate reporting from Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and selected EU countries.

Many participants will be stepping into investigative journalism for the first time, especially in challenging environments with limited access to data.

The key part of the project is a workshop in Moldova in September 2025 for 15 selected journalists. It will equip participants with essential tools, networks, and inspiration to conduct pre-investigative and exploratory research on climate and energy issues.

After the workshop, participants will be eligible to apply for funding of up to €800 (including taxes) to support the development of their story. This can be used for exploratory or pre-investigative reporting to identify leads, trends, and actors.

The call for applications for this workshop is opened until 25th of May.

June 2025 – Selection of participants

September 2025 – Workshop and call for publications
