Azhar Al-Rubaie is an Iraqi journalist with ten years' experience specialising in politics, social issues and human rights in Iraq.

He addresses pressing regional challenges in his work, including water scarcity, climate change, and environmental degradation. His reporting has been featured in The Telegraph, Al Jazeera English, Al-Monitor, VICE, The National, Middle East Eye, and The New Arab among others.

Azhar has also co-authored research papers for the London School of Economics [LSE]and contributed to various think tanks across the region, including Fikra Forum.
