Bruna Cases is a photojournalist from Barcelona, specializing in social and environmental issues. She earned her journalism degree from UAB University and has since dedicated her career to telling impactful stories.
Throughout 2024, Bruna has been focused on documenting the climate crisis across the Mediterranean, particularly the challenges faced by fishermen due to rising sea temperatures and declining fish stocks. At the same time, she has been working on a project about the eviction of working-class families in Barcelona, a city with the highest eviction rates in Europe.
Bruna produces stories for RUIDO Photo, an organization committed to covering human rights issues. She also serves as a stringer for Reuters. In her daily life in Barcelona, she balances long-term projects with covering breaking news and sports. She enjoys combining in-depth stories that capture the reality of her surroundings with the fast-paced nature of breaking news.
In February 2024, Bruna traveled to Turkey to cover the devastating earthquake that struck the region.
Her work is driven by a desire to document everyday stories that reflect global issues, exploring themes of uncertainty, vulnerability, hope, and resilience through the lens of daily life.
