Szymon Opryszek is a Polish freelance reporter.

Szymon Opryszek is the author of the book “Water: the story of a certain kidnapping” (2023). Together with Maria Hawranek, he also published “Tańczymy już tylko w Zaduszki” (2016) and “Wyhoduj sobie wolność” (2018). He is the author of the reporter series “My Crime is My Passport,” which was nominated for a Grand Press award and awarded by the Amnesty International Pen of Hope. He specializes in Latin America, migration, human trafficking and the climate crisis.
