PARIS - 'Missing: Their Loved Ones, Our Borders' is a cross-border investigative project focusing on migrants who have disappeared at Europe's external borders.
The project has three main objectives. Firstly, it aims to quantify the number of missing persons in each border area under investigation and give these figures names, faces and personal stories. Secondly, it aims to document the concrete impact of a disappearance on an entire family. Thirdly, it aims to investigate the role of European authorities in these disappearances.
The project aims to link investigations into missing persons at European borders with the experiences of their relatives in their countries of origin and in diaspora communities. Relatives' testimonies will be matched with missing persons profiles at the Franco-British and Bulgarian-Turkish borders.
