BRUSSELS – Journalismfund.eu is proud to announce that it’s been given a grant of about €190,000 by Open Society Foundations to continue its mission of promoting quality and in-depth journalism in Europe.

The new grant is for a total of $226,464 to be exact, which roughly equals €190,000. It spans a period of two years, from the beginning of 2015 until the end of 2016, and allows us to organise two extra application rounds for cross-border working grants, one each year. This means that there will be four application rounds in 2015 and three, for now, in 2016.

In addition to two extra application rounds, the grant supports a mentoring programme for grantees, contributes to the European Investigative Journalism Conference & Dataharvest 2015, and allows us to organise a seminar for data journalism trainers and educators.

You can read more about where our funding comes from on this page. Our next upcoming deadline for cross-border grant applications is Monday the 26th of January.
