Studio Monitor was founded in December 2005, following the shutdown of 60 Minutes, the high-rated investigative show on TV channel Rustavi 2. In a sign of protest against political interference, the show’s lead journalists, Nino Zuriashvili, Nana Biganishvili, Beso Kurtanidze, and Lika Basilaia left the channel and set up Studio Monitor to produce investigative documentaries independently. Our editorial independence and commitment to the highest standards of journalism remains unchanged regardless government shifts and economic influencers.
