AMSTERDAM – The Investigative Teaching Lab is an intensive on-the-job training course for European investigative journalists, developed by The Investigative Desk, a Dutch non-profit for investigative journalism.

VIENNA – A two-day intensive workshop featuring a unique program designed for investigative journalists with diverse backgrounds and varying levels of technical skills.

MADRID / FERRARA / BERLIN / PARIS / BARCELONA - 'Visualising Investigations' consists of five different training and networking sessions in five different cities: Ferrara, Berlin, Paris, Madrid and Barcelona, with the aim to promote collaboration, networking, and the exchange of knowledge between investigative journalists and for photojournalists in Europe.

FIRENZE - The first edition of the online Magmatic School of Environmental Journalism will be held online from October 2024 to February 2025. Nine participants have been selected. 

SILVER SPRING - GIJN has developed a detailed six-chapter guide designed especially for investigative reporters on how to investigate the fossil fuel industry. 

BERLIN - 20 European journalists are being trained for a week to gain a practical understanding of the tools and insights needed to report on climate neutrality and energy transition. Organised by Clean Energy Wire (CLEW), which has been covering all aspects of energy and climate for a decade, the Summer Academy aims to make European journalists better equipped to tell the story of our time.

PARIS / BRUSSELS / MADRID – Groundwater is the ecosystem Europe has always been able to rely on, and grew to consider an infinite resource. This cross-border investigation reveals that the current state of matters is dire: our water is disappearing and what remains is facing near-irreversible pollution.

BUCHAREST – This project has established an environmental journalism hub to educate Romanian journalists about the intricacies of investigative reporting on the environment.

KIRUNA - This investigation sheds light on what lies beneath the EU’s ‘green mining’ ambitions, and offers a unique perspective on the continent’s quest for critical raw materials, such as lithium, nickel, copper and rare earth elements needed for the future.

AMSTERDAM - The official handbook of the Dutch-Flemish Association of Investigative Journalists covers the internationally renowned Story-Based Inquiry method: a fast and effective way to organise and carry out journalistic research. Around it, the authors discuss the social, psychological, legal, financial, ethical and societal aspects of investigative journalism.
