FLORENCE- Several investigations supported by Journalismfund Europe have been honoured at the Voices Awards 2026, highlighting the impact of cross-border and public-interest journalism across Europe.

The investigation Feeding Europe, Failing Workers” received the award in the Press, Video and Documentary Journalism category. This investigation revealed that farm owners who intimidate and exploit migrant workers are receiving millions in agricultural subsidies.

EU Funds Meant for Inclusion are Fuelling Roma Marginalisation was recognised with the Digital Storytelling & Social Media Award for its publication in Unbias the News.

The Housing Games investigation also won in the Digital Storytelling and Social Media category. The investigation revealed whether the people who are vital to keep our cities running can still afford to live in them.

Arsonist country: Hard Truth About Fires In Portugal investigation won the Voices 2026 Award, in the “Journalism — Radio and Podcast” category. The investigation reveals that widespread forest fires in Portugal and Spain are significantly driven by intentional arson, uncovering the underlying motives behind these acts.

Finally, Exporting Abortion investigation was awarded in the Press, Video & Documentary Journalism category. The jury praised the project for its varied methodology, clear language, and human-centered approach, as well as its excellent data visualisations, which make a complex cross-border issue accessible to a wide audience.

These recognitions underline the importance of collaborative investigative journalism in addressing pressing societal issues across Europe.
