The upcoming conference will kick-off on Saturday, 22 October 2022. Board chairwoman Torset promises a packed program with national and international heavyweights in computer journalism.
"Never before have so many in Norwegian newsrooms used computer journalistic methods in daily life. The war in Ukraine has created a great need to learn about verification, OSINT and fact checking. We guarantee that both freshmen and experienced computer journalists will benefit from this autumn's Data-SKUP.”

SKUP's general manager John Bones adds that the conference also attracts an international audience: "American NICAR was the source of inspiration when we established Data-SKUP in 2014, and I think we have succeeded in creating a mix between elementary and advanced courses and between practical teaching and inspiration seminars. was the source of inspiration when we established Data-SKUP in 2014, and I think we have succeeded in creating a mix between elementary and advanced courses and between practical teaching and inspiration seminars. I am absolutely certain that the programme will also be able to tempt our Nordic colleagues to participate."

The program will be divided into different categories and several parallel sessions will be scheduled at any given time, which will take place in various conference rooms at the hotel. Visiting participants and lecturers will have the opportunity to stay at the hotel.

Registration opens at the end of June.

Award ceremony

On Saturday night, a gala dinner and an award ceremony will be staged in the main hall at The Hub where the Data-SKUP prize will be awarded for the first time since 2019.

"You do not need to have large developer resources to win the Data-SKUP award. By dividing the award in two, we hope to inspire more smaller newsrooms to sign up and submit their contributions," says Torset.

For those who want to compete for the prize, they must submit a method report with a maximum of 10 pages by 5 September 2022. The award is funded by Dagbladet's foundation.
