Artificial intelligence is transforming communities across Europe, affecting everything from hiring practices and healthcare decisions to education and local government services. But how can you, as a journalist, cut through the hype and tell the human stories that matter?
We are excited to invite you to a free 90-minute online workshop. This workshop will equip you with the practical tools you need to report on AI, even if you have no technical background.
Beyond the Hype: How to Cover AI Stories That Matter to Your Community
In partnership with the Pulitzer Center, the award-winning investigative journalist Olaya Argüeso Pérez will guide you through a framework for reporting on AI, focusing on accountability and human-centred storytelling.
What you will discover:
- Context: An overview of how AI has evolved and what it means for journalism;
- Framework: A practical approach to identifying and covering AI stories in your community;
- Sources: How to find experts, data, and voices for your AI reporting;
- Pitfalls: Common mistakes to avoid when reporting on AI;
- Action steps: How to develop your own AI accountability stories.
No specialist knowledge or technical background is required! This workshop is designed specifically for non-tech reporters who want to understand the impact of AI on their communities.
