David Ilieski works as a journalist and co-producer of the Newsroom series.

He started his journalistic career in 2017 as a co-creator of the youth show “Krik”, a project developed within the framework of the “BBC Media Action” program, from where he moved to IRL . As part of the partnership between the IRL and the International Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, Ilieski has been trained as a researcher assisting numerous domestic and international investigations in the OCCRP ID research sector where IRL is a member.

Vardar/Axios: A River in Distress

SKOPJE / THESSALONIKI -  Investigative teams from IRL in North Macedonia and Inside Story in Greece secured and analyzed thousand of pages of documents, interviewed tens of stakeholders and authorities and surveyed the Axios/Vardar basin and its facilities in order to identify the environmental pressures on the river and expose the reasons behind them.
