Domen Savič is a journalist and founder of NGO Državljan D (Citizen D) from Slovenia.

Domen (born 1981) is also media activist and digital-rights advocate. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana. Early in his career he worked for the national public broadcaster in Slovenia, and he also helped establish the online editorial team at a major Slovenian newspaper.

Since 2015, Savič has been the director and founder of the NGO Državljan D (Citizen D), which is — according to the organization the first in Slovenia to focus primarily on human rights in the information society, media literacy and active citizenship. Through Državljan D, he has led work on digital rights, communication privacy and security, media regulation, and citizen engagement.

As a journalist and researcher, Savič has authored investigative studies and articles on topics at the intersection of technology, society and media — including analyses of disinformation, propaganda, state funding of hate content, surveillance and biometric databases. His work has attracted international attention: he has been featured by media outlets and platforms such as Wired, Bellingcat, and Foreign Policy, where he speaks on issues around media freedom, digital rights, and the influence of propaganda.
