FLENSBURG - The Baltic Sea is under significant pressure, yet efforts to protect it are insufficient. Its decline is driven by two major forces: the accelerating impacts of climate change and eutrophication, the nutrient overload from agricultural runoff, sewage, and other waste that fuels massive algal blooms.

NIAMEY - This cross-border investigation focuses on the impact of the Anti-smuggling-Law 036-2015, introduced in Niger in response to the so-called 'European refugee crisis'.

SAMOS-KOS - This cross-border, independent investigation focuses on the newly opened 'closed controlled access centre' on the island of Samos. It is the first "pilot project of the European Union" and opened on 18 September 2021. It was financed entirely (43 million euros) by an EU Commission fund, which vowed to "no more Morias" after Europe's biggest refugee camp, Moria, on the Greek island of Lesvos, burned down last year.
