Marco Carlone is a freelance photographer and film-maker based in Turin, Italy. 

Since 2013 he has worked extensively in the Balkans and Eastern Europe, writing on environmental issues, culture, society and minority groups for outlets including RSI, Euronews, Altreconomia, Balkan Insight, Il Corriere della Sera, La Stampa and RaiNews24. In 2018 he won the Premio Morrione award for young investigative journalists and in 2019 he won a European grant with a web documentary about the effects of climate change in the Balkans.
