Martin Williams is UK Investigations Editor at openDemocracy, and the author of Parliament Ltd: The Dark Heart of British Politics

Before joining openDemocracy, he worked at Channel 4 News as a specialist producer and reported for The Guardian.

Martin has also written investigations for publications including The Sunday Times, The Times, The Mirror, The Independent, Vice, Private Eye, and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism.

His 2016 book, Parliament Ltd, exposed greed and corruption in Westminster and was described as “ground-breaking” and “eye-popping” by the Sunday Times.

Martin Williams also co-presented a show called Investigations, with the comedian Josie Long, which combined investigative journalism with stand-up comedy and had a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016.
