Pascale Müller is an award-winning investigative journalist.

Labour exploitation, sexual violence and abuse of power – these are topics that often remain hidden because those affected are not heard or perpetrator structures are difficult to grasp. For over ten years, she has been researching precisely at these intersections of power and powerlessness. Her work ranges from international cross-border projects to investigative series for podcasts and online media.

For her, it's not just about uncovering grievances, but also about making their mechanisms visible. Her investigations have sparked public debates, initiated institutional changes and have been honoured with awards such as the Nannen Prize, the Otto Brenner Prize and the Reporter Prize.

Complex investigations require careful planning and coordination. Responsible research means for her carefully planning every story from the outset: assessing risks, protecting sources, clarifying legal questions and implementing sensitive topics in a trauma-informed manner. In close collaboration with specialised media lawyers, she ensures reporting is not only journalistically sound but also legally robust.
Alongside her own investigations, she also shares this knowledge in workshops and training sessions on secure research and trauma-informed reporting. In this way, she supports colleagues in shaping their own work sustainably and responsibly.
