Tobias Kruse is a freelance German photographer.

He works on personal projects and for selected clients. His work spans various thematic dimensions, with a particular focus on cultural, social, and ecological topics, all approached from a personal perspective. Additionally, he specializes in portrait photography.  

Tobias Kruse grew up in Mecklenburg, in northeastern Germany. As a child he experienced the former communist part of the divided Germany. Kruse studied photography at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie under Prof. Ute Mahler, Werner Mahler, and Prof. Arno Fischer. In 2011, he joined the Ostkreuz photography agency and began teaching photography at the Ostkreuzschule in 2017.  

He regularly contributes to publications such as DIE ZEIT and DER SPIEGEL. His works have been published in books by Hartmann Books, Hatje Cantz, Kerber, Spector Books and Steidl, and were exhibited in museums and galleries around the world.
