ANTWERP - The program for the VVOJ European Investigative Journalism Conference 2012 has been published. Journalismfund.eu is partnering with VVOJ to coordinate the conference's cross-border track.

The track will feature stories that were funded by Journalismfund.eu. Journalists from all over Europe will talk about their projects:

Furthermore, Brigitte Alfter will explain why working across borders in teams of journalists is an excellent method to overcome language and other reserach obstacles and will launch a new website to help journalists find stories and colleagues.

Deterrence of fraud with EU funds through investigative journalism

BRUSSELS - A voyage of discovery through the European Union to explore the current state of investigative journalism. A search for answers to the question of whether robust, cross-border investigative journalism into fraud, mismanagement or human error in the spending of European money can contribute to improved European governance. During the last six months, this journey became a full-time occupation for investigative journalist Margo Smit and six of her colleagues.
