BRUSSELS - Journalismfund.eu has sent out the first of what will be a bimonthly newsletter on issues concerning Journalismfund.eu and its activities and on investigative journalism in general.

The newsletter will be sent out bimonthly, meaning there will be six issues per year. It will keep you informed of developments in the following four domains:

  • Journalismfund.eu news
  • Journalismfund.eu supported stories
  • Cross-border reporting
  • Wobbing (= journalists using freedom of information act as a journalistic tool)
  • Non-profit journalism
  • Investigative journalism community in Europe
  • Service updates (other research grants, events, awards)

Bringing tools for investigations

An investigation made by Carlotta Indiano and Ariane Lavrilleux  showed that the world’s steel leader ArcelorMittal has exceeded several pollution limits authorized by European, Italian and French law for a decade. Meanwhile, the company headquartered in Luxembourg has received billions euros of public funds and indirect subsidies.
