Svetlana Batalova is a Bulgarian journalist.

Born in 1960, she started working for the local newspaper Dupishka Komuna in 1985, transferring to the national daily 24 Hours and weekly 168 Hours, after a brief stopover at Struma, a regional daily, from 1992 to 1993.

Since 1998, Batalova has been working as an investigative journalist at 168 Hours, where she delivers reports with a strong public response. In 2008 she was awarded the Austrian Reporters Without Borders Award for her investigative report on people trafficking of Bulgarians who had been promised a job in Greece.
