CAIRO - Cairo Encounters follows the lives of four Western European women who have emigrated to Cairo for love. The documentary explores the impact of their life choices on their Western identities and highlights their interactions with Egyptian society.

It paints a nuanced portrait of a community where love and cultural exchange can create both bridges and barriers. The women live in different neighborhoods of Cairo and are at various stages of life: the Flemish Anke is preparing to move to a new compound, the British Jo, now divorced, visits her friend in the countryside, the young French Claire discovers fledgling love, and the German Kristin finds her home as a housewife in the city's green district—they all have their own stories.
