Jonathan Moens is an independent science and investigative journalist based in Rome. 

He reports on a wider array of topics, including science, global health, technologies, and the climate crisis. You can find his work published in The New York Times, Washington Post, National Geographic and more.

Jonathan was formerly an investigative reporting fellow with Lighthouse Reports covering food systems and surveillance. 

 In 2022, his work won the American Society of Journalists and Authors Awards for the science category, and in 2023 he contributed to a series that won the National Association of Black Journalists award.

Prior to journalism, Jonathan did a master's in cognitive neuroscience. He is fluent in English, French, Italian, and gets by with Spanish and Portuguese
