RADOMSKO - The project aims to accelerate the digital transposition of Gazwta Radomszczańskie from paper to electronic version, by increasing the number of subscriptions sold. As part of the project, the editorial office will create a small subscription hub to create additional, unique journalistic content only for subscribers.

This is intended to increase the subscription purchase rate and user stay time on the site. This content will be available via FB, X, and newsletters. Additionally, the editorial office will commission integration tests of the subscription shopping system to improve the purchasing path and eliminate places.

Target group

The project is primarily intended to improve residents' access to quality local journalism. The government-owned Polska Press concern owns Ruch, a distribution company. The movement limits sales outlets in small towns and terminates contracts with local independent publishers to make distribution more difficult. The development of the subscription model will allow GR to become independent from the traditional sales model. Residents of the Radomsko poviat, where Gazeta Radomszczańska is published, have limited access to high-quality local journalism that controls the government, monitors its hands and takes care of democratic standards. In order for residents to have access to information about the local community and authorities, and be able to follow social and economic processes taking place in the local environment - Gazeta Radomszczańska must expand its digital section.

Goals of the project

The aim of the project is primarily to improve residents' access to high-quality local journalism, increase the offer for subscribers and acquire new subscriptions. Residents of the district where "Gazeta Radomszczańska" is published have limited access to high-quality local journalism that controls the government, monitors its hands and ensures democratic standards. To increase it, Gazeta Radomszczańska must expand its digital department.

About the media outlet

Gazeta Radomszczańska is a local title. It has been published in newspaper form since 1993 in one poviat - Radomsko in the Łódź Voivodeship - inhabited by 100,000 inhabitants. The radomszczanska.pl portal has been operating since 2019 (111,323 unique users in October 2023, data: GA4). From 2021, the newspaper is also available by subscription. Gazeta Radomszczańska focuses on control functions. It is the only publishing house in our region that does this. It publishes intervention and investigative materials. In the most important competition for local journalists, SGL Local Press, over the last seven years, Gazeta Radomszczańska's texts have received 19 nominations and won 10 main awards. The effects of her materials are measurable. In recent years, after our publications, a provincial councilor and a church councilor were sent to prison, the mayor was convicted and lost his position, and the starosta lost his position. The largest parish must pay PLN 190,000 in compensation for molestation. In July 2023, the court legally concluded that our publication about irregularities in the municipal company during the competition for PLN 24 million in subsidies is true.
