The European LOCAL Cross-border grant programme provides opportunities for media outlets and/or freelance journalists to collaborate on investigating localised issues and solutions that exist in different countries.
This webinar session provides answers to the following questions:
• Why a local focus and what does “local” mean? How is this programme different from the other European Cross-Border option?
• What kind of investigative stories have come out of this programme?
• What does a solutions journalism approach entail?
• How is this a capacity building opportunity? Working time, expenses, skills development with mentoring, scholarship opportunities and networking.
• How do you achieve collaboration with project partners? Any tips for successful projects?
• What are the project assessment parameters and budget eligibility criteria?
• When does this grant opportunity start and finish?
In 2025, Journalismfund Europe has a total grant budget of €365,000 available for this programme over two application rounds. For the next deadline, on January 23rd, we have €250,000 to distribute.
The European Local Cross-border programme is funded by the European Union, Vereniging Veronica and Limelight Foundation.
