Meet the Trainers:

Ana Tudela

Co-founder and Projects Leader at Datadista.com, Ana is an investigative economic journalist with 20 years of experience in national media in Spain. She specializes in new narratives and has been widely recognized for her work in data-driven investigative journalism.

Her recent projects include:

  • Winner of the 2023 Climate Journalism Award (European Journalism Centre) and Investigative Journalism Spanish Association Award in Data Category.
  • Special mention at the prestigious Ortega y Gasset Awards 2022

She led the 2023-2024 Under the Surface project, which provided an interactive map of European groundwater statuses in collaboration with top European media outlets. Ana has contributed to major publications such as El Economista, Público, El Español, and Forbes. She has authored books on Spain's economic crisis and environmental impacts and is a collaborating professor in investigative journalism, data, and innovation.

Marzia Minore

Marzia, a freelance journalist based in Italy, investigates social and environmental issues, including agriculture, food, migration, and education. She studied in Italy ( La Sapienza), France (Paris VIII), and the UK (University of Cambridge). Her multidisciplinary background includes academic research, consultancy, and teaching, initially focusing on arts and cultural policies. She currently works on human rights and social inequalities, combining data research with human stories.

Her recent work includes:

  • Contribution to media such as Internazionale, Voxeurop, Altreconomia, L'Espresso, Il Fatto Quotidiano, and la Stampa.
  • Investigation on migrant women's rights and exploitation of migrant workers in Italian agriculture.
  • Ideating and coordinating the cross-border investigation "The world in a Classroom" ( school integration of migrant teenagers in 5 European countries), funded by a Journalismfund grant (2022-23)
