Focusing on the physical processes — production, refining, transportation, trading — that move oil and its products around the globe, Data Desk lists the data sources and methodologies they use to monitor this activity, illustrating the talk with examples from published investigations.
The training session will be given by Sam Leon and Louis Goddard, founders of a non-profit investigative group Data Desk with the mission is to re-purpose commercial data on global supply chains — particularly for coal, oil and natural gas — to hold the industries that produce them accountable, usually through media publications.
This webinar is part of Earth Investigations programme that supports environmental investigative journalism on European affairs in and outside Europe.
