Aida Ciro is an Albanian journalist and researcher working at the intersection of public policy, rural development, and sustainable tourism.
Her investigative reporting on the distribution of EU IPARD agricultural funds in Albania and North Macedonia was recognised nationally. The investigation examined structural inequalities, the concentration of subsidies and concerns about the governance of rural development grants.
In addition to her journalistic work, she has extensive experience of acquiring and managing development projects at a local and regional level across major donor and international development programmes in Albania and the Western Balkans.
She holds a Doctor of Science degree in Sustainable Tourism Development from the joint International Doctorate Programme in Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Ferrara and POLIS University.
She earned a BA in Journalism from the University of Lincoln and an MA in Security and Strategic Studies from the University of Hull, both in the UK. She also completed studies in Logistics and International Production Chain Management at Jönköping International Business School in Sweden.
