Andra Matzal, is a Romanian journalist and editor, with a background in philosophy and anthropology. 

She is a co-founder of Scena9, an independent publication with a focus on culture & society, where she has been working for the past eight years. She started as a journalist almost 20 years ago, covering arts & culture for some of the major Romanian dailies. After the decline of the printed newspapers, she hopped on numerous digital journalistic platforms, doing her best to report on arts & culture in an inquisitive and inclusive way. 

Prior to Scena9, she coordinated a Romanian online publication devoted to environmental & social issues and was part of interdisciplinary projects related to journalism, arts and education.
