Chris Michel (°1956) is a Belgian TV journalist and documentary filmmaker. 

He often works in Central Africa. His documentaries on ‘Uganda's children's prison’ and ‘Knikkebol disease in South Sudan’ received a lot of attention in the Netherlands (NOS) and Flanders (VRT). Chris is a regular guest in the studios of both Dutch and Flemish television and on Radio 1, including in connection with Ugandan rebel leader Joseph Kony.

In recent years, he has also made domestic reports for VRT (Pano, Koppen, Panorama, Terzake) and for NTR-NOS (Nieuwsuur, Eén Vandaag). Most recently, he made a documentary for Pano (VRT) on ‘Development Cooperation’ and had an exclusive interview with artist and royal daughter Delphine for VRT (Terzake) and RTBF (Journal).

Chris was a journalist, studio commentator and live reporter at VTM News and the interpretative programme Telefacts for 12 years. He specialised in Central Africa and domestic politics. Chris collaborated on TV productions around the world for VRT, VTM, VT4, 2BE, NOS as well as Spanish and Portuguese TV stations. He makes documentaries for organisations such as War Child, Vlaamse Vereniging Autisme, Vlaamse Interuniversitaire Raad (VLIR), CO2Logic, Davidsfonds, BRS and vzw Kindsoldaten Congo-Uganda.
