Dan is a British investigative journalist, presenter and director specialising in gripping environment stories for radio, podcasts, TV and film. 

In 2020, he co-founded Smoke Trail Productions in the UK with Lucy Taylor. Upcoming projects include a multi-episode narrative podcast series for BBC Radio 4, an hour-long radio documentary for the BBC World Service and a short documentary film commissioned by the renowned international film festival Hot Docs. He made his directorial debut with a short film, The Catastrophe Garden, which was released on the streaming platform Waterbear in the spring of 2022. 

Previously Dan was a foreign correspondent for international TV and radio news networks, based for three years in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and then a further three years in Moscow, Russia. Prior to that, Dan worked in the UK for ITV News, where he was shortlisted for a national Royal Television Society award for his investigation into wrongdoing in the police.
