Dan is a British investigative journalist, presenter and director specialising in gripping environment stories for radio, podcasts, TV and film.
He co-founded Smoke Trail Productions with Lucy Taylor in 2020. Together they have produced two series of the BBC podcast Buried, which won the top Grand award at the New York Festival Radio Awards, Gold in the British Podcast Awards, and was named the Guardian’s #3 podcast of 2024.
Upcoming projects include adaptations of the podcast into a BBC TV documentary and a non-fiction book.
Previously Dan was a foreign correspondent for international TV and radio news networks, based in Tanzania, and then Russia.
