Daniel Patrick Holmes is an award-winning British filmmaker based in Southern Mexico.

He graduated with an MA (Hons) in International Journalism before moving to Beijing in 2013 where he produced and directed his first films.  

Longform, narrative storytelling sits at the heart of Daniel’s work, whose films have been shown internationally, for broadcast and web. His recent film, Madame White Snake, followed the fate of a Shanghai opera troupe whose theater was slated for demolition, and premiered on Al Jazeera Witness.

His documentary, China’s Fake Boyfriends, won numerous awards, including Best Direction at the Asian Television Awards.
