David Klaubert is a political editor and investigative reporter at Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, specialising in organised crime, criminality, court reporting and Southern Europe and South America.
Born in 1983, he grew up in the Allgäu Alps. After his school-leaving exams, he spent a year working at a nursery in São Paulo. He studied journalism and Latin American studies in Eichstätt, including an exchange semester in Dar es Salaam. His traineeship at the F.A.Z. was followed by two years as an editor in the Sunday paper's "Leben" section and two years as a political editor at FAZ.NET. From May to July 2014, he was a guest editor at the Folha de S. Paulo in Brazil. From 2016 he worked as an editor in the "Deutschland und die Welt" section, and since October 2022 in the political news desk. He researches and writes primarily about organised crime around the world.
