Emmanuelle Picaud is a French investigative journalist with a decade of experience.

She has explored a variety of subjects, from the ecological transition of architecture to academic research in the social sciences. In 2021, after five years as an editor in the French specialist press, she became a freelance journalist. Since then, she has published investigations in national and international media such as Le Monde (France), the BBC (UK), El Diario (Spain) and Le Temps (Switzerland).

In 2023, Emmanuelle coordinated the European investigation “Cashing in on Carbon Credits”, a series of articles revealing how companies in the cement and steel sectors used free emission allowances to generate billions in profits on the European carbon market.

Academically, she has a degree in science journalism (Master's from the Lille School of Journalism), urban planning and philosophy. She writes regularly for specialist publications in these fields.
