She has 25 years of professional journalism experience in various Lithuanian media. She started as a correspondent for Radio Free Europe in Lithuania, then worked for 12 years as the editor of the Lithuanian newsroom of Baltic News Service (BNS) - the largest news agency in the Baltic States.

Since 2021 Jurate has been the editor of the investigative journalism department of 15min.lt, one of the largest Lithuanian news portals.
