Laura Sear started her career in 2016 as a news intern for “VRT NWS” (The Belgian National Broadcast), then she moved to London where she graduated with an MA International Journalism at City University of London.

She worked as a freelancer for the Daily Mail, Immediate Media, PinkNews and Deutsche Welle. In 2018, she worked as a communications assistant at the European Parliament.

The construction has drawn controversy as it cuts straight through a Natura 2000 conservation area. Russian state-sponsored media and the Kremlin, have flasely claims it will devastate the Baltic sea, the lagoon, and local wildlife, but have not provided any independent scientific evidence to back their claims.
