Lode Desmet (°1965) is an award-winning Belgian documentary filmmaker who has made films for and in co-production with most major European broadcasters, including ARTE and the BBC.
He began his career in the print media – writing for De Morgen and Humo – before moving into sports journalism at Belgian radio.
In 1994, he began working in television and has since made a long series of short and feature-length documentary films. A brief selection from his more recent filmography includes:
