Mark Middel is a correspondent based in Warsaw.

He works for the Dutch daily NRC, where he covers on Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans and Ukraine. He was previously NRC's correspondent in northern Netherlands, where he reporting on gas extraction in Groningen. For this, he won De Loep, the award for best investigative journalism in the Netherlands.
