Urvashi Sarkar has a long history of reporting social issues in India for amongst other Al Jazeera and The Wire.

"I am a journalist on the move but moored in India. I report on various issues ranging from foreign policy, lobbying and think tanks, to climate change, health and nuclear policy. I have reported from India, Bangladesh, Palestine and the United States. My work has been published in BBC, Al Jazeera, Caravan Magazine, Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, The Hindu, People's Archive of Rural India, Fifty-Two and several other publications.

My work has been a recepient of International Red Cross Committee-Press Institute of India Awards and Ladli Media Awards for Gender Sensitivity.

I am a member of the Ramnath Goenka Awards for Environment and Science Reporting award winning team for climate change reporting in India. I have been a fellow of the UN Reham Al Farra Memorial Journalism Fellowship Program and People's Archive of Rural India. I was chosen to be South Asia Editorial Fellow by Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (2021-2022) My skills include reporting, investigations, feature writing, copy editing and research."
