Vince Ballai has worked as a journalist since 2001, and since 2020 for HVG, which is Hungary’s well known independent weekly famous for its ironic covers, and investigations, one of which forced the head of state to step down back in 2012.
Vince is the member of the Economic section, and partly responsible for the ZHVG (Z for green) subcolumn. His main focus areas are climate change, environmental protection, conservation and sustainability from renewables to recycling.
Vince conducted interviews with climate scientists, wrote articles and produced video reports on illegally shot protected wild animals, and also covered controversial state run solar panel tenders.
