Yvonne Dudock is a Dutch freelance journalist
Yvonne Dudock is a freelance journalist specialising in human rights violations, climate change and migration. For her reports, she travels to remote corners of the world that often lie outside the public eye. There, she brings into sharp focus the stark reality of both major and less visible social issues that affect many people.
In her work, the personal story is always central: from Nepalese people recruited by the Russian army under false pretences to undocumented refugees on Curaçao, and from indigenous communities severely affected by climate change to underage victims of child marriage, sexual exploitation and forced recruitment as child soldiers in Kenya, Nepal and Colombia respectively.
Her reports have appeared in publications including De Groene Amsterdammer, Vrij Nederland, Trouw, MO*Magazine, OneWorld, De Morgen, National Geographic Traveller and ELLE. She received the Golden Freelancer Award for her report on a Peruvian alpaca farmer’s struggle against climate change.
