BRUSSELS – Journalismfund.eu is honoured to announce new names to strengthen and enlarge its International Advisory Board. One advisory board member is replaced, while seven new members join.

The International Advisory Board acts as a sounding board for Journalismfund.eu. It is a meeting point for the investigative journalism community in Europe and safeguards Journalismfund.eu’s balanced representation across the whole European continent. The advisory board makes sure that relevant information and knowledge are passed on from Journalismfund.eu to all European countries and from the countries to Journalismfund.eu.

The advisory board consists of representatives of investigative journalism associations and centres, as well as other estimated individuals in the journalism community. Seeing as how that community is ever developing in Europe, representatives of new organisations need to join the advisory board from time to time, while others retire from the board.

Henrik Kaufholz, senior journalist and member of the Danish association of investigative journalists FUJ, who had been an advisory board member since its conception, is retiring from the advisory board. We want to thank him for his commitment and support over the years. He is replaced by Anne Skjerning, a Danish freelance journalist and FUJ board member.

Six other names join, and with them six European investigative journalism organisations that weren’t represented on the advisory board before. Ilona Moricz is the director of the Centre for Independent Journalism in Hungary, Sheila Ahern heads the Irish Mary Raftery Fund and Italian journalist Serena Tinari is a member of SwissInvestigation.net. With Xhelal Neziri and Zaklina Zafirova two co-founders of Scoop Macedonia join the advisory board, while Christo Hird and Martin Stoll respectively bring the London Bureau of Investigative Journalism and the Swiss investigative journalism network Investigativ.ch to the mix.

We would like to thank all our new advisory board members and are very much looking forward to the cooperation!
