Alec Saelens (he/him) has been the Journalismfund’s project coordinator for the European Local Cross-Border grant programme since November 2024.
Before taking on this role, Alec was Impact Manager at the Solutions Journalism Network where he also coordinated the Solutions Journalism Revenue Project. He is co-founder of The Bristol Cable, a pioneering local media cooperative in the U.K. He previously worked as a researcher and coach for the Membership Puzzle Project and as an analyst for NewsGuard. Alec has a degree in International Relations and a Master in International Law.
Alec returns to Brussels, where he was born and raised, after 15 years studying and working in the U.K and the U.S.
