

Anders Alexanderson has been a member of the jury since the start of the Professional Development for Environmental Journalism grant programme in 2021: he was a member of the jury from December 2021 to March 2025, during which time he assessed 264 project proposals. He has awarded a total of more than €987,504 to 264 projects from 21 countries.
Anders Alexanderson is a senior advisor at Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga). He is one of the founders of The Centre for Media Studies at SSE Riga, which provides media management training and further education in investigative reporting. Anders has a background in the media in Sweden and has held management positions at several newspapers. Anders is also a media entrepreneur and was the founder of one of the first internet consulting companies in western Sweden and one of Sweden’s first private radio stations. Before his position at SSE Riga, he worked in public affairs in Scandinavia, the Baltics, and Russia. He is a board member of OCCRP and ARIJ.
The interest and need for investigative reporting on environmental issues has increased dramatically in recent years, driven, among other things, by climate change. I hope there will be more projects using innovative tools, new journalistic methods and new means and forms of publishing. - Anders Alexanderson
