Guillaume (Gui) Polspoel is a Flemish sports journalist, television presenter and political journalist.
Polspoel studied civil engineering and architecture at the Catholic University of Leuven. He also holds a postgraduate degree in management. Polspoel began as a trainee architect, but soon moved on to journalism.
He had been a contributor to the BRT radio sports newsroom since 1967. In 1975 he moved to television, where he worked as a part-time sports journalist for the BRT. From 1975 to 1994 he was a journalist for the television news service.
Since 1994, Polspoel has been a soccer commentator at FilmNet, which later merged into Canal+ and Prime. In 2006 he was lent to VT4 where he was one of the commentators during the World Cup.
In 1999, he moved to VTM, where he hosted the political debate program Polspoel & Desmet from 2001 to 2006. From 2007 he hosted the program Polspoel on the regional television channel TV Brussel. In 2009, he started on Kanaal Z with the political talk show Z-talk - Polspoel. Every week he hosted a Belgian politician with whom he had a half-hour conversation.
He also worked as a freelance journalist for Knack, Humo and Panorama, among others.
