John Bones served as a juror for Journalismfund's European Local Cross-border grant programme from 2022 to 2024. Mr Bones (NO) was Managing Director at SKUP, the Norwegian Foundation for Investigative Reporting, and a generous champion of investigative reporting throughout his career. For many years, he was the data journalism specialist at VG, the most-read daily newspaper in Norway, having previously served as editor and politics editor. He began his career at Adresseavisen in 1979.
John Bones passed away on Monday, 13 May 2024, after a long illness. He will be remembered fondly, and greatly missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.
