Sylke Gruhnwald is a reporter and author working across print, digital, podcasts, and theatre. She investigates where technology enables violence and impunity follows. Her reporting combines on-the-ground interviews with data-driven analysis.
Her connection to Journalismfund predates her current board membership. She was part of the team behind "The Migrants’ Files", a cross-border investigation into migrant deaths in Europe supported by Journalismfund. From 2016 to 2018, she served as Chair of its board. She was re-elected as a director of Journalismfund on 17 March 2026.
